Comprehensive Exams will be Offered April 18th and April 25th, 2015.  Location yet to be determined . READ INFO  BELOW:

The comprehensive exams covering the material in  the Mat 451-452-453 series will be given on Saturday April 18th, 2015. 

The first part will cover  Chapters 1 ti 10 in the Mendenhall text will be closed book and  will be given during the morning portion from 9 to noon.  Exam is closed book . Only scientific calculators permitted  and NO  cellphones or  tablets allowed during the exams.

The afternoon portion will cover the material in Chapters 12 to 15 in the Mendenhall text.  Even though some of the material may not have been covered extensively in your  courses, it is your responsibility to go over the material.

This exam is open book and notes.

The guidelines of what to study for the two parts of the exam are listed on my website listed below in my signature.  If the link does not work, copy and paste to the Google or whatever site you use..  If you have trouble opening it, let me know. You will only be tested on those concepts listed. 

The concentration portion of the Master's in Applied Mathematics in Statistics and Applied Statistics  has changed and will shortly be posted on my website. For now, for those of you in Applied Statistics or Applied Mathematics with a Concentration in  Statistics , the concentration exam will be given on Saturday , April  25th , 2015. This is a  three hour exam beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at noon .

Two thirds of the exam will cover concepts , printouts and setting up models incurred in your Mat 456 Regression class. 

The remaining portion will ask you to set up how to model scenarios from the Design, Sampling and Forecasting Courses.  You will have a choice of which type you wish to choose from .  We realize that not all of you have taken  the Sampling or Design or Time Series Courses so choose the the field  you are most familiar with.
There may be more than one approach to take in setting up the models so be clear with how you set up the models.  This exam is closed book.

If you  are in the Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science, the Concentration exam is only needed if you did not pass two of the SOA  Exams before graduation.  The concentration exam in Actuarial Science will also be given on April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to noon  If you did not pass two exams , you will be required to complete a exam on general concepts from your Mat 461-462-463 exams.  Review all homework quizzes and tests for the courses.  The exam is CLOSED BOOK with only scientific calculators permitted and no cellphones or tablets allowed during the test.
